Does Trailer Wiring for 2012 Lincoln MKZ Turn Off Back Up Sensors

I have a 2012 Lincoln MKZ Hybrid and would like to install a hitch for my bike rack. Do the wiring kits provide for disabling the backup warning when a tester/simulator is plugged in?

Hey Douglas, the trailer wiring kits that fit your 2012 Lincoln MKZ like the part # 46255 do not have ability to shut off any backup sensors or anything like that. If there's a trailer wiring option for your vehicle that does that it would have to be from a Lincoln dealer.

Hey Douglas, were you able to find a wiring option from Lincoln that disables the backup sensors on your MKZ Hybrid? Knowing what worked could help others trying to add a hitch and wiring to the same vehicle.

@JamesonC Thanks for following up. Sadly, no, I was not able to find anything. Seems the ability to disable the backup sensors was only for vehicles like the MKC, MKT, or MKX. Crossovers and SUVs. I guess the models that would have a hitch or towing package available.
