Recommended Single Crossbar for a 2022 Toyota 4Runner TRD PRO w/ Factory Side Rails

Hi there! I drive a 2022 Toyota 4Runner TRD PRO. It comes with a roof rack which i like.... But i need to transport my Surfboards and paddleboards on it, and need a cross bar in front of my sunroof so my boards dont snap. What im trying to figure out is..... if the Rhino Rack Vortex Roof Rack For naked Roofs will work? i only need 1. I have looked for Light bars that can also double as a Load bar but Having a VERY VERY hard time. I dont want to get a full roof rack because i want to keep the functionality of my sunroof.

Hey Melissa! I took a look at our options for adding crossbars to a 2022 Toyota 4Runner TRD PRO. If yours has the factory platform rack we do not have any options to add a set of crossbars, which means the Rhino-Rack Vortex Roof Rack item # RR23ZE, you were looking at, will not fit.
If your 4Runner just has the factor side rails you can install the 50" Yakima JetStream Crossbar item # 8880633 and the TimberLine Towers for Yakima Crossbars item # Y82TR to add a single crossbar.
Does your 4Runner have the factory platform rack?

Hey Melissa, what did you find out about your 4Runner’s roof setup—does it have the platform rack or just the side rails? Once you know that, it’ll be easier to confirm which crossbar option will work best for your boards. Let me know what you find so we can narrow it down.
