Can Furrion Electric Fireplace be Installed in a Residential Fireplace

Updated 10/30/2025 | Published 02/12/2025

Question:

I bought this fireplace and I have a question: Can I install the fireplace in an opening of an old wood-burning fireplace in my house? Can it be flush with the wall or should I leave the upper venting area of the fireplace outside and free?

Hey Edwin, thanks for reaching out!

The Furrion Electric RV Fireplace with Logs # F30SW15ABL can be installed in the space of an actual fireplace, yes. You'll want to make sure that the Furrion is installed within specs (it will need to breath), and I also recommend making sure your fireplace is secured above, and you can occasionally clean behind the Furrion as well.

My brother lives on a homestead, and they mainly use a fireplace to heat their house in the colder months. He's had critters get into the flue from the roof and over time the fireplace can get a little messy (even if you aren't using it) so just keep that in mind and you'll be good to go!

Let me know if you have any other questions!

Hey Edwin, how did the setup go with your Furrion fireplace in the old wood-burning opening? Did leaving space for it to breathe work out as expected? Your update could make it easier for others planning a similar install.
