Question:

Jameson-I’m looking for a brake controller for my 24v vehicle to be able to do braking on 12v trailer brakes. My raiders are LED bulbs so not an issue but the braking is. I have a 24v-12v inverter in the vehicle to provide 12v to the controller but need something between the brake light switch 24v wire and the controller 12v red wire— Do you have a controller and something for in between the controller and brake light switch? I’ve had great success with deawtite products on other vehicles. Thanks for your help!

Hey Mike, it sounds like you need a universal brake switch part # RM-751000 which you will install on the brake pedal and then you'll power from the power converter you have so that you can provide your brake controller a 12 volt stoplight circuit.

Do you have a brake controller picked out already? The P3 part # 90195 is a really great option if you are still looking.

Hey Jameson, how did things go with the universal stop light switch and the P3 brake controller setup on your 24v vehicle? Your update could make it easier for the next person working with a similar power setup.

@JamesonC Hi Jameson-thanks for checking in. I’ve not done the work/mod yet; while working on the wiring I found significant historical shorts damage as I worked as well as ‘old vehicle’ (39 years) problems so the whole project got set way back from what I expected—chasing down last few issues (hopefully) then will look at this likely ear to mid next year as some urgent home repairs just came up last week—life doesn’t fit well into our hopes sometimes. Thankyou.
