Recommended Replacement 7-Way Trailer Connector for a 2009 GMC Acadia

Updated 11/03/2025 | Published 01/29/2025

Question:

So I have checked EVERY video you have and none of them is for the installing the 7 pin harness to the OEM plug for a 2009 GMC Acadia. a 4 pin blade is not going to do my trailer any good. The 7 pin is needed due to trailer brakes. Are you going to even bother covering this in your videos?

Hey Juliet great question! So if you already have the OEM plug then you can just use the Replacement Custom Multi-Tow 7-Way and 4-Way Trailer Connectors # 30955, which just plugs into your OEM harness and replaces your 4-pole/7-way connector.

The Reese Multi-Plug Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package # 74682 would be great if you towed two different trailers, one with brakes and one without. Since it sounds like your trailer has brakes, I'd use # 30955 instead.

What kind of trailer do you have? Feel free to come back and let us know, and if there's anything else you need!

Hey Juliet, how did things go with the 7-way connector on your Acadia? Did the Replacement Multi-Tow connector plug into your OEM harness the way you needed? Your update could make it easier for others setting up trailer brakes on similar vehicles.

@JerredH. No, I ended up going to the salvage yard and pulling a complete OEM harness with the connector. its been like 10 months ago I asked this...... got a response, which didn't help.... so went the route I did..... Within those ten months did any of you even bother to make a video to cover what I asked? somehow I am doubting it.
