Replacement Tarp for Extang BlackMax on 1999 Dodge Dakota R/T

Updated 01/29/2025 | Published 01/28/2025

Question:

I have a 1999 Dodge Dakota R/T, I am replacing the tarp on the current BlackMax Tonneau Cover. This is the one that has been recommended for my truck. What are the dimensions of this tarp, as in width and length in inches? I am not able to locate those essential to me dimensions anywhere in the specifications.

Hey Steve! The Replacement Tarp for Extang BlackMax Soft Tonneau Cover # EX1750 is the correct replacement assuming yours has snaps and you have the 6-1/2' bed. This tarp fits the BlackMax 2750 which was designed for the 1998-2003 Dodge Dakota R/T.

Unfortunately, Extang never gives out dimensions when we ask. The best thing to do is make sure the cover the tarp is designed for fits your vehicle and in this case it does. If you have the long bed, or your cover does not have snaps, let me know in the comments below and I'll see if the correct replacement is available.

Unfortunately, I will not be willing to order something that cannot be returned if I do not have the exact specifications prior to the order. I am not going to get stuck for over 125 dollars. It's happened before.

@Steven sure I understand. I've called and asked them many times over the years and the answer is always "only our engineers know that information and they won't share it." I don't really believe that but for whatever reason that is some kind of policy they have. If we had them in our warehouse I would happily go out and measure but they ship directly from Extang. Do you have a serial number listed on there anywhere? I can verify it with Extang if you do and if that is acceptable for you. Try checking on the driver side up at the cab.
