Question:
I'm needing to add a hitch to my 2025 RAV4 but there are a ton of options to choose from. I just need it for bike and possible a tray for carrying some extra cargo. What hitch works best for this?

Hey Tim, great questions!
All of the hitches we have to offer will work great for transporting bikes as well as cargo in a tray, but our etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver # e23ZR stands out a little more than the others because of the matte black finish. This affects the long-term life of the hitch because I've seen it resist the elements and scratches from road debris better than the standard glossy finish we see on the other hitches offered for your RAV4.
I also have bike rack and cargo tray recommendations if you don't already have those. For the bike rack I really like the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 # SH22B because it's the perfect blend of functional and sleek without fighting to be the priciest in it's category. It fits with pretty much any standard bike that doesn't have a front fender so if any of your bikes are a little unique please let me know what you have and I can make a better recommendation for you.
When it comes to the cargo tray I have a really hard time recommending anything other than the Flint Hill Goods 22" x 49" Cargo Carrier # FHG27ZR. I've moved a handful of our cargo trays around the shop here at etrailer and the aluminum construction makes it WAY lighter (only 25 lbs) so it's a lot easier to move around when you need to. The aluminum also has the added benefit of no rust so the only part you need to check on periodically is the main black tube since that's still made of steel.
I've attached some videos of these parts being used on RAV4s for you to check out!

Hey Tim, how did the etrailer hitch and the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 work out on your RAV4? Did the setup handle both your bikes and the cargo tray the way you wanted? Your update could make it easier for others choosing a similar setup.
