Recommended Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack for Heavy E-Bikes on a 2007 Toyota Camry XLE

Question:

Hi, I have a 2007 Toyota Camry XLE 6 cylinder and would like to install a hitch to carry 2 ebikes that roughly weigh 175lbs total. What hitch would you recommend? I see you have hitches for the Camry SE but wasnt sure if they were the same. Many thanks...

Robert, for your 2007 Toyota Camry XLE I recommend going with the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 36416. This hitch has a 3,500 lb GTW capacity, a 350 lb tongue weight capacity, and has a 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" receiver.

From here, you can use the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # HLY74FR which can handle up to 80 lbs per bike. This is going to be the highest capacity bike rack that you can use, so since your bikes are still going to be a bit too heavy, I'd suggest you try and shed some weight if you can otherwise, they'd need to be trailered.

Hey Robert, how did things go with the Draw-Tite hitch and the Sport Rider SE rack on your Camry? Were you able to make the setup work for your ebikes? Your update could make it easier for the next person with a similar load.
