Question:

Tried to hook up incandescent stop, turn, clearance lights on my bike rack to my 5th wheel with led lights. Cant get them to work. Do i need diodes or a conveter?

Bruce, no you will not need a diode like the Roadmaster # RO54FR you were looking at. You'd only really need them if you were switching from incandescent to LEDs.

If the lights are not working at all, then it's probably a wiring issue not a power supply issue, so I'd suggest checking your wiring first and making sure everything is wired correctly. It also wouldn't hurt to make sure that your grounds are good as well because that can also cause lights to not work.

I fixed my wiring problem by establishing a solid ground first. I used a ring connector and a self tapping screw into the frame. I used a 12 volt voltage tester to discover which wires controlled clearance and turn signal lights. All works well now. Thanks for your assistance.
