We have seen pairing problems with the Prodigy RF Brake Controller, # TK94FR, and certain European vehicles, including the Porsche Cayenne, but the good news is I have some solutions for you. The pairing problem that you have is due to a signal these vehicles send through the trailer plug for the lamp out sensor and to detect the trailer.

You have two options to bypass this signal. The easiest option would be to place a piece of tape over the 5 o'clock pin in the trailer connector receptacle on the RF unit mounted on the trailer. This will block the signal during the pair process. Once the pairing process is over, you can remove the tape. You will want to start the pairing process from the beginning.

The other option is to use a domestic vehicle, such as GM, Ford or Dodge, to complete the pairing process. You would leave the trailer coupled to the Cayenne and pull the domestic vehicle close enough to plug-in the trailer connector. Once the pair process is completed with the domestic vehicle, you can move the hand held unit to the Cayenne and the brake controller will be paired.
