Hello Todd. When installing a new spring bar, you basically just set the "knob" end of the spring bar into the socket on the ball mount. You will do the lower socket first, then slide it into the upper socket. This is covered in the instructions for the Strait-Line Weight Distribution System # RP66084, and you will find a link to those instructions just below.
