We unfortunately don't offer the Carrier Air brand so I don't have a set of troubleshooting steps available to me but if the remote isn't working it would likely either be a power or communication issue. First check that the batteries in the remote are good and that the AC system is fully powered as well. From there move closer to the air distribution box or thermostat (wherever the sensor should be) to ensure there's nothing blocking the remote from sending the signal to the sensor.
If there's power and nothing blocking the signal then it could also be an issue with the AC system's controller, which typically isn't repairable and would just require replacement. It could also just be a faulty remote though. Does the system have manual buttons that you can press to bypass the remote? If it does and it works then we know the remote is the issue.
I would try reaching out to Carrier Air to see if they offer any sort of troubleshooting help or if they can warranty out any malfunctioning equipment.
