Recommended 4 Pole Wiring Harness for a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Updated 02/03/2026 | Published 07/07/2024

Question:

I have a 05 Silverado 1500 with faulty factory wiring to towing harness. My regular tail lights, brake lights and brake lights all work on factory wiring. Do you have a T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector without factory trailer connector option for my truck? I am able to use factory juntions under the bed for tail, brake backup lights.

Steve, we do have a T-one harness for your Silverado # 118384 but it's only going to work with the factory 7-way. From what I can see there is no plug and play option for your Silverado, so realistically your only option would be to use a universal harness # C47NR.

You're also going to need the Curt 2 to 3 Wire Light Converter # C56196 to convert your 2 wire system to a 3 wire.

Hey Steve, how did things go with the Curt universal harness and the 2-to-3 wire converter on your Silverado? It’d be great to hear if that setup solved the wiring issue. Your update could make it easier for others dealing with the same problem.

@ChrisR I gave up. Too complicated for me to figure out without the factory harness connector. Truck is dying out in the back 40.

@Steve Well, shoot. Once it's laid to rest are you thinking of a new truck?
