Question:
Hey! I have a 32’ enclosed haulmark edge enclosed trailer. I’m trying to find the best option for A/C. I need to know what Unit fits my needs and what wattage generator I need to run an A/C unit. I plan on cooling the whole trailer. So it’s 32’ x 8.5’ x 7.5’. Thank you!

Hello! Enclosed trailers typically aren't well insulated so, I recommend going with a higher BTU rated unit to help offset the amount work the unit will be doing. The Furrion Chill HE RV Air Conditioner System item # FR92PR you were looking at would be the best option. This 1,500 BTU system comes with everything you need including a start capacitor to cool down your trailer.
Please note that enclosed trailers typically do not have proper support for an AC unit or a thick enough roof so you will have to do a bit of frame work to ensure it has enough support. You'll most likely need to increase the thickness of the roof as this system requires a 3-1/2" to 6" roof thickness. We've installed these systems in enclosed trailers before and just increased the thickness by using some plywood around the opening.
The Furrion System item # FR92PR does come with a start capacitor, however you're still going to need a generator with a starting wattage above 3,000 watts to ensure the unit will start. I recommend the 4,500-Watt Portable Generator item # 333-0005. This generator comes with a 4,500 starting wattage and 3,600 running wattage. It runs off of both propane and gas and features an electric starter for fast and easy start up.
