Maximum crossbar Spread Allowed For Thule Sidekick Roof Mounted Cargo Box

Question:
On a different webpage, it says the max crossbar spread for the Thule Sidekick is 32” Your page says 28” The Thule manf page for some stupid reason doesn’t provide this info for the Sidekick I’m just double checking…what is the max spread I have fixed mounting points that I’m stuck with I tried using your chat but it t8med out on me without providing a response

This may have to do with the measurement points and how the other webpage measured. This is why we like to take all of our measurements in house. The 28" measurement we have for the Sidekick # TH78GC is from center of crossbar to center of crossbar. The other site may have measured the maximum distance from the front edge of the front bar to the rear edge of the rear bar. I also verified this is the information found on the "Roof box hatch door clearance" form on Thule's website.

Hey, did the 28-inch crossbar spread measurement for the Thule Sidekick clear things up for your setup with fixed mounting points? Knowing how that spacing worked out could help others trying to match their roof box to similar mounts.
