What is the idea weight the ramp should be for this spring to work properly?

The Ramp Spring # RS16933LH has 2K (lbf-in) torque. Do remember while this seems like a lot of weight, remember the lever rule and the longer the ramp the more force it will take to move the ramp. This is why the spring does not have a specific weight capacity listed since the different construction of ramps and lengths would cause different amounts of lift capacity.

You can see a few of the different size ramps the spring is used on by visiting the product page. Also some of the ramps will use 2 springs while some only require 1.
