Question:
Hello Etrailer, Can the adjustable Python lock be used in place of a cam strap to tie down gear on roof of a car? If so what is the load rating? Thank you.

Hey Albert; I suppose you can technically use the Cable Lock # 8428DPS as a way to tie down gear, but I wouldn't recommend it and it doesn't have any type of load rating as it's not meant for that specific application.
To be on the safe side I would definitely stick with cam straps like the 8-3/16' long Rhino-Rack Cam Buckle Cinch Straps # RRRTD25L or 11-1/2' Long # RRRTD35L.
