Question:
Do you have to have the slide out safety cut off connection on a Furrion FF30SC15A-BL connected for fireplace to work? I currently have fireplace that blinks red but was/is not connected to the slide out safety cut off connection.

Hi Jacob,
The Furrion Electric RV Fireplace with Crystals # FF30SC15ABL is an optional safety measure that can shut the fireplace off in the event that the slide out is retracted in to the stored position. It shouldn't affect the functionality of the fireplace when not connected. If you're having issues the display will typically flash a code so that you can fix the issue. Is yours showing any kind of code?
If not the main troubleshooting steps are to remove the unit from the cutout hole and blow out any dust in the unit with a can of compressed air. Afterwards you can check the power to the outlet for the fireplace and make sure it's getting a full 110-120 volts with a multimeter and you can also check the amperage with a clamp multimeter. This unit requires 12 amps to properly function.
