Can Lubricant Be Used On The Removable Section Of Hidden Hitch Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT58GR?
Updated 03/27/2024 | Published 03/15/2024 >
Question:
Installation was fairly simple. However, the hitch attachment on the hidden hitch does not attach every easily. Can I use some WD-40 on it to help loosen the twist lock? And, should the attachment be that difficult to install?

The removable section of the Hidden Hitch by Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # DT58GR is supposed to be a snug tight fit. You do not want any play in these components otherwise that would give you a rattle noise when driven and would cause the parts to wear more quickly. I do not like using any type of lubricant such as wd-40 as it creates a very thin layer which can also attract dust and dirt.

Bud, thank you for your recommendation. I have tried taking out some of the loose play on the receiver.. I got it to connect a couple of the times. It’s still not easy. I’ll try taking more play out of it when I return home. Wish me luck. Thanks, Nolan
