Question:
I have a 2010 Nissan Altima sedan and want to install a motorcycle carrier on a hitch. The motorcycle weighs 250 lbs and the carrier weighs about 60 lbs. The carrier has a 2inch square mount, and I would like to install a hitch class 3 or 4 with a 2inch square mount capable of up to 600 lbs tongue weight. I will install air bags on my springs to even the vehicle out and prevent sag. Can I purchase a Draw-Tite for my car like this?

The only class of hitch available for a 2010 Nissan Altima is a Class I hitch like the Draw-Tite, # 24796. Class I hitches have a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening and a 200 pound or less tongue weight capacity. After checking the owner's manual for the 2010, it gives a tongue weight capacity of 100 pounds. You will always want to follow the weight limitations of the component with the lowest weight rating.
Towing capacity of a vehicle is determined by many factors including frame structure, suspension, engine, transmission, and braking system. Upgrading with air bags will not increase your towing capacity to allow you to haul your motorcycle in a hitch mounted carrier.
In order to transport your motorcycle with your Altima, towing a small, light-weight trailer, would be a safe option. If you choose a trailer whose coupler takes a 1-7/8 inch hitch ball use Tow Ready Ball, # 19256, or for a 2 inch hitch ball use Tow Ready Ball, # 19258. Add the Curt Wiring Harness, # 56022, and this would complete the set-up.
Keep in mind you must always stay within the tongue weight and towing capacity limits of your vehicle.
