Can The Vent On Top Of The Greystone 26" Electric Fireplace # 324-000069 Be Covered?

Question:
this unit appears to have a vent at the top of the cabinet towards the rear. Will it cause any issues if this is covered? My install area would be a snug fitment.

The vent on the top of the Greystone 26" Electric Fireplace # 324-000069 must be allowed to vent into the cabinet.
