Is There a Roof Rack Cargo Carrier Combo for a 2016 Chevrolet Trax to Fit in a 6'10" Tall Garage

I have a 2016 Chevy trax. I absolutely destroyed my old roof rack set up bc it didn’t fit in the garage !! I need a whole new set up from scratch that fits into a parking garage with a 6’ 10” clearance. I’m leaning toward Thule wing bar/ aerobar with the Thule Motion XT Alpine Roof Box. Will this work? Can I get a thicker box? More room the merrier!

From what I could find on the 2016 Chevrolet Trax, it sits about 5'4" tall. The Thule Motion XT Alpine Rooftop Cargo Box # TH629506 will add 12-1/4" from the top of the crossbar to the top of the cargo carrier. This means your roof rack needs to add about 4" or less in height to clear 6'10".
With this being the case, you will want to use a low profile roof rack like the 2016 Chevrolet Trax Roof Rack by Thule which consist of:
- Thule WingBar Edge Crossbars # TH66FE
- Edge Raised Rail Feet for Thule Edge Crossbars # TH69SC
This roof rack adds around 2-1/2" of height. This is as streamlined as you can get and fits as long as your Trax has raised side rails. If you have an alternate roof style, please let me know so I can make an appropriate recommendation.
