Will The Advent Air Replacement Rooftop Unit Work With A 2-Speed Dometic AC System

Question:
Hi, I want to replace my Dometic 13.5btu with an advent 15000btu. I have a ducted unit and I’ve read comments on the install. I’m concerned that the 2speed Dometic wiring may not work correctly with the 3 speed advent. Will the advent be able to run plug and play with the wall thermostat which has the heat setting included in the thermostat. the wall thermostat controls the trailer heat and a/c. Some of the comments mention this unit is not 100 plug and play with the wall thermostat set up I have. Could you clarify installment with the wall heat and a/c thermostat please.

Since the Advent Air RV Air Conditioner # ACM150 is only replacing the rooftop unit and the "brains" would be the controller and thermostat you'd most likely be losing the medium setting since the Dometic only has a hi and low speed functions available. The connection point on the controller can be either a 6-pin or 9-pin. if your controller requires a 9-pin connector then you would also need to pick up the # ACCOLKIT adapter to connect to it.
If you are wanting to get the best performance out of the # ACM150 and avoid any communication issues then you would need to replace the air distribution box, controller, and thermostat as well. There's two replacements; part # ACDB which has the control knobs built into it and part # ACRG15 which has a separate wall thermostat.
