Question:
will this part work for the jayco style 6 square adapter used on an coleman fleet wood pop up camper thansk
asked by: John J
Expert Reply:
Coleman used their own proprietary 6-way square connector, and from what I understand, it was only available from them. My contact at Hopkins tells me that the # HM47415 you referred to is different enough that it will not work. Since Coleman no longer manufactures campers, I am not sure where you would get an adapter. Your best bet would be to remove the existing connector on the camper and install a 6-way female connector like part # PK11604 (or whichever plug would be compatible with the socket on the tow vehicle). Before cutting off the existing connector, be sure to trace the wiring to determine which circuit serves which function so you can wire the new plug accordingly. You can also use a car battery to apply power to the various circuits to determine which circuit is which.
