Do I Need to Replace a Kitchen Faucet That is Leaking at the Base

Updated 02/12/2025 | Published 05/30/2023

Question:

I have this faucet in my Thor RV. It has started to leak around the bottom where it meets the counter. I replaced the ceramic cartridge but it still leaks. Can it be repaired or do I need to replace the whole unit?

I actually had the same problem with a faucet similar to the Phoenix Faucets Hybrid RV Kitchen Faucet w/ Pull Down Spout # PF231461. The issue for me actually ended up being the hose inside of the braided steel broke and it started to saturate the steel hose and kind of run back down the hose after use and leak around the base. I ended up just having to replace the faucet.

Faucets typically do not have many replacement parts available, so more than likely your best bet is going to be a whole replacement.

Scott S my faucet is leaking at the base on the counter top like the one that you explained how do you get the old one out and put in new there is no room under the sink to get to the fittings anyway for me I know that some of these are easy fix except for access under sink. Is there a video for this project or best take to rv shop?

@Ronk,D If you go to a hardware store there will be a few different tools designed for removing hard to access under sink fittings like it sounds like you have. I wish we had a video on how to use them but if you went to like a Home Depot and talked to someone in the sink area I am sure they would have just what you need. Plus bring in some pictures if you can.
