Troubleshooting Demco Hijacker Handle That Won't Stay Out When Disconnecting

Question:
i have a Demco 16K ultra slider hijacker hitch. When I try to unhook from the trailer, the handle will not remain open or out so I have to hold it and have someone drive out from under the trailer. Is there an adjustment or what can it do?

If the handle of your Demco Hijacker won't stay out when you are trying to disconnect from the trailer Demco recommends installing the safety pin in the second handle hole just outside of the frame handle bushing to hold it out so that you can basically lock it in the open position.
