Question:
In the 1 1/4 inch you recommend stabilizer straps, but I do not see this mentioned in the 2 inch version. Do you recommend them for both. I would really prefer not to have a strap assembly on my new car. Are they really required if I am only putting about up to 150lbs bike rack and 2 bikes on the hitch?

Expert Reply:
Curt recommends the use of the stabilizer strap like part # 18050 with all of their 1-1/4 in hitches and some of the 2 inch hitches, but not the 2 inch hitch available for your 2014 Nissan Rogue.
The Curt Hitch part # C13204 that you referenced would be a great hitch for you since you would rather not use a stabilizer strap, and because a 2 inch hitch has more capacity and has more options for hitch accessories than a 1-1/4 inch hitch.
This hitch should do very well carrying a 2 bike rack that weighs a total of 150 lbs.
