Question:
I have a 6.5ft bed full size pickup with an RSI smart cap. Im thinking about mounting a Rhino Rack Pioneer platform to the roof of the cap 76x49. I want to keep the rack as close to the roof as possible. On the SmartCap there are existing tracks. I dont want to use the quick mount legs RLT600 because it adds too much height. I was considering the backbone RR24AT. What is the spacing between the mounting points on the cap side? What is the height of the backbone? Im debating if I want to remove the existing rails and replace it with the backbone and by sheer luck maybe it lines up with some existing holes. Or if I want to add the backbone on top of the tracks. It seems like with the backbone on the tracks, the adjustable height legs can be lowered to bring it lower. Im just not sure how much adjustment there is in the backbone height. Thanks!

I reached out to Rhino-Rack, who told me the height is 2-1/2 inches and the mounting holes feet are spaced 26 inches apart on the Rhino-Rack Universal Modular Backbone Mounting System for Camper Shells - Long # RR24AT.
