I have a 2021 GMC Sierra 2500HD, short bed. My old truck was a short bed as well shorter and I had a Reese R16 without a slider. I like the 20k Reese M5. The comments say that you cant use a bed cover with the hitch installed. Im not sure why. . What do you recommend?

There's an issue with the Reese M5 item # RP26FR that is easily fixed so it will be compatible with a tonneau cover. The handle that comes with the hitch sticks straight up for some reason. If you change it to the Low Profile Handle for Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitches item # RP58553 you will have plenty of clearance.
The Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch item # RP26FR is compatible with the factory towing prep system in the 2021 GMC Sierra 2500. It will drop right down into the pucks built into the bed.
