What is the difference between the front mounted spare holder and the rear mounted one

The reason the Front Mounted Spare Carrier part # 6715 is designated for the front of a vehicle is because of the angle of the mounting bracket being vertical instead of kicked back. It technically could be used in a rear hitch as well.

Other than that it's pretty similar to the Curt # C31006 which is for a rear hitch.

You can use the Draw Tite Rear Mounted Spare Carrier #6715 at the rear of a motorhome. We've had several customers who have done this report back to us that it worked out just fine and there's no reason there'd be any issue.
