Can Rhino Rack Hybrid Bike Rack Attach to Top of Pioneer Platform Tray

Is it possible to use this on a pioneer platform, without additional crossbars? I saw there is compatibility using the C-Channel Fit Kit on the rhino website, but it was unclear if this requires vortex or other crossbars on top of the platform, which I would like to avoid.

The Rhino Rack Hybrid bike rack part # RRRBC050 can attach to the top of a Pioneer Platform tray but you will need to use the T-channel adapter part # RRRBCA034 and you'd be set.
