Question:
Can the camera be removed from the tag part and mounted by itself since my tag in not infront of the hitch

Expert Reply:
The Rear View Safety # RVS-718-TAILGATE will likely be a better option for you as the camera on the Hopkins # HM50002 is also wired into the backup sensors. This will not allow you to just remove the camera and use it alone with the monitor. The monitor on the Rear View Safety is built into the rear view mirror so you will not have to have an additional monitor on your dash. It has a small camera which is designed to mount inside a tailgate handle making it easy to position on your vehicle without taking up a lot of room.
