Question:
I just purchased a p3 brake controller. I have a 2002 z71 1500 avalanche. In cab is hooked up. Do i need to put a fuse under the hood where the fuses are and hook up the wires and if so what amp fuse do i need? It has a factory towing package. Thanks

Installation of the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 should not require any additional fuses or wiring connections. You can plug it into the port under your dash using the # 3025-P and it will be ready to go. However, I did find some instances where the fuse was missing. If that is the case, it looks like you need a 40 amp fuse for the brake controller and it appears to be in the engine compartment fuse box. I recommend consulting your owners manual for the location and fuse size to be sure.
