The trailer hitch that fits your 1990 Dodge Caravan will not fit your 1998 Dodge Caravan.
Your 1990 Caravan was a Generation I and your 1998 is a Generation III van and through the years there have been substantial changes.
If you need a hitch for your 1998 Dodge Caravan, I recommend the Draw-Tite Class II Hitch # 36296. This hitch is the most like what you already have on your 1990 Caravan. It is Class II rated and has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening. I have linked all available options for your 1998 Caravan. Staying with the same size hitch as your prior hitch, your accessories, such as bike racks and cargo carriers will still fit.
