Plugging In Tekonsha 4-Way Harness On a 2017 Ford Explorer With Single Connection Stuck In Plug

My 2017 ford explorer does not a spot to plug in my t connection harness. It has a single connection that the harness will not plug into as the harness will not remove from the end.

The factory harness on your 2017 Ford Explorer simply terminates into a end cap as the additional harness is not needed on every model. You will remove the harness from the end terminal to be able to install the Tekonsha T-One Wiring Harness # 118540. Likely the connector has some moisture and dirt that has gotten into the connector causing it to stick and not want to remove from the harness. You will want to ensure the catch is disengaging from the connectors and slowly wiggle the connectors in all directions to try and free them from each other. Depending on where you are located and the weather this is typically more easily done in a warm climate. You may need a small Pick Tool # PT76VR to raise the catch holding the connectors together if it will not fully disengage due to the dirt.
The harness will connect in line and you can use the existing cap to seal the other end of the Tekonsha harness as seen in the image below.
