What's the difference between this and the Curt hitch? They look very similar.

Great question!
The difference between the etrailer Trailer Hitch # e93KR and Curt Trailer Hitch # C13303 for your 2022 BMW X1 is the powder coat. Our hitch has a matte black powder coat that is a little thicker and has a "flat" color tone to it while the Curt has a glossy finish that is a bit more noticeable. I tend to prefer the subtle approach which is why I typically recommend the etrailer alternative.
We haven't had a chance to install the etrailer hitch as of yet (December 2022) but we have installed the Curt on a 2020 model which I'm linking for you to check out.
