Question:
We have a 2014 travel trailer with incandescent tail lights that look like your RVSTB60. They are optronics, measure 8 3/8 x 3, and have 10035-22 molding in the black base plate. I want to replace with LED tail lights, but our trailer is made of corrugated metal stick and tin with the corrugations running horizontal. The factory lights are mounted on this surface with factory caulking to fill in the gap. I will never be able to clean this caulk from the painted surface and redo it and look decent if I install a new base plate. Does anyone make an LED fixture that would mount on to the existing Optronics base plate so I would not have to disturb the caulk?

Expert Reply:
The Optronics trailer taillight part # RVSTB60 that you referenced uses a 1157 bulb so for an easy way to convert it to LED you could just swap the bulb for an LED version like the # ARC63FR for a set of two. These are red which is the correct color. When going to an LED light you have to match the color of the light to the lens color otherwise the red will look like pink.
