I was originally set up for a Ram 1500. I got a 2500 and the Fastway E2 1000/10,000 hitch didnt enough so I had to get one from etrailer to the hitch a couple more inches to maintain a flat ride for the trailer. I see the Curt Rebellion XD cushioned hitch with the 2.5 inch hitch specification is essentially a hitch of similar dimensions to the static one I purchased. Will the E2 Head connect with the cushioned Curt Rebellion XD connection? It appears this would also give me a cushioned ride for those dirt roads I occasionally go down...

I have a really great similar solution I an provide you with but the Curt Rebellion adjustable ball mount you mentioned can not be used as a weight distribution shank. Instead you would want a cushioned Gen-Y weight distribution shank like the # 325-GH-1302 which will give you the cushioning you are looking for, has similar drop to the Rebellion, and also fits a 2-1/2 inch hitch.
