Does Stereo need to be set on Auxillary setting once HDMI cables are connected

For a stereo like the Furrion Mechless RV Stereo DV7200 or any others like the # DV3300SBL you would need to set the source on the stereo to HDMI using either the remote or button on the face of the stereo for it to play audio from an electronic that's connected to it via HDMI.
