I have a Curt A20 slider 5th wheel hitch that I no longer need on my 2019 Chev 2500 6 1/2ft box. A fellow with a1985 Chev 3500 8 ft box wants to buy it . Will it fit? Will he need a different installation kit?

Yes, he would need a semi-custom base rail kit like the Demco Premier Series Above-Bed Base Rails and Semi-Custom Install Kit for 5th Wheel Hitches # DM8552014-71 to fit his 1985 Chevy CK 3500. The brackets for your 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500 would not be compatible with his truck.
Once he has the new base rail kit in place you can then install the Curt A20 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ R20 Slider # C16541.
