Question:
So I installed the Reese weight distribution hitch 66020 and came out within a eighth of an inch difference in my trucks front end height. When I put on the dual cams 26002 the front end height didnt change from just the trunions installed, but the snap up brackets were easier to lift up and clip into place. Is that normal? And secondly, when I was connecting the hitch to the shank I had to readjust it a few times. My brother in law was concerned that torquing the bolt would stretch it out and would weaken it. Is that something I should be concerned about or are the bolts rated higher so I could re-use them on a different vehicle occasionaly? Thanks for any information!

Everything sounds good with your installation. The Reese Dual Cam # RP26002 often makes the weight feel lighter than just the Reese Weight Distribution # RP66020 since the bar is sliding on the cam. As long as your vehicle is still leveling out correctly that is what is important.
The bolts used for connecting the hitch to a Shank # RP54970 are made of higher quality as they know there are multiple adjustements made on them to position the hitch at the correct height and pitch. We do offer Replacement Bolts # 58133 that include the washers, nuts and positioning blocks that can be used if you feel the bolts have stretched and are no longer safe to use.
