Expert Reply:
The Rightline 13-Cubic-Foot Cargo Hatch Saddlebag for Vehicles with Roof Racks, part # RL100B90, has a 100-lb capacity as you noted, but it is a good idea to check the owners manual for your vehicle to confirm what the roof rack weight limit is. This bag itself weight about 10-lbs. The total weight of the Rightline bag plus your loaded luggage must remain within the vehicle roof rack capacity. Also, your vehicle must have at least 40-inches of space between the tail lights in order to use this bag without it interfering with visibility of your vehicle lights for motorists behind you.
The outside dimensions of this bag (40 X 20 X 28 inches tall) mean that it will provide internal space for luggage of approximately 39 X 19 X 27 inches, but since the bag is soft and flexible it will to a degree conform to the shape of what is loaded into it.
Airline carry-on luggage size limits are generally 22 X 14 X 9 inches. A standard full-size suitcase typically measures 26 X 26 X 10 inches. You can double-check your luggage dimensions to confirm a satisfactory fit based on the size of this bag.
