The trailer wiring harness I recommend for a 2015 Chevrolet Equinox is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness, part # 118264 for models with the tow package or part # 118494 for models without the tow package. These are direct plug-in kits that provide a standard four way trailer connector which is the most common type and most widely used.
Please note, if you need a seven way then you'll have to use an adapter like the Adapter 4-Pole to 7-Pole and 4-Pole part # 37185.
