Ball Mount Option that Has 11 inches Drop

Published 06/07/2022

Question:

According to the math that I did that 11 inch drop would only put the top of the ball at 20 1/2 inches from the ground up. I need it to be 16 inches to the top of the ball. What adjustable hitch will work Best? hd2012 or hd2014 and why is there a price difference? I am thinking I need to go with the HD 2014 but I just wanted to confirm that so I don’t have to deal with any returns. Thank you

Based on the dimensions you listed you'd need a ball mount with a lot of drop like the Draw Tite part # 80248 which has a drop of 11 inches. This is the most drop we offer from our ball mounts.

An adjustable ball mount would get you closer to the 13 inches of drop you need. So based on that you'd want the part # HD2014 which can do a drop of up to 14 inches. As the part # HD2012 is one inch short of that. The price difference is due to the HD2014 being larger and requiring more material.
