Expert Reply:
Class II trailer hitches are not manufactured for weight distribution. Due to this, there are not any weight distribution hitch manufacturers designing systems for Class II trailer hitches. The addition of a hitch adapter does not change this fact. You only have two options in this scenario. If possible, you can replace your Class II trailer hitch with a Class III trailer hitch. The second option is to reduce the tongue weight on your trailer. You can shift the load of your trailer rearward to lessen the tongue weight.
Anytime a hitch adapter is added to your trailer hitch its maximum tongue weight is reduced by 50%. As a result, adding the Hitch Adapter 1-1/4" to 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver (Class II Only), part # 80303, reduces the maximum tongue weight of your Class II trailer hitch to 150 lbs.
