My SIL has a 2018 Kia Sorento without roof rails. Would a Thule fit? He has guides with screw holes in them but no rails. Thank you!

To carry any rooftop cargo box, like the Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box # TH629906, on any vehicle you will need a roof rack. It sounds like the 2018 Kia Sorento has the flush mounted rails so I recommend using a Thule WingBar Evo roof rack:
