What Harness do I Need to Combine my Trailer Lights with My Turn Signal/Brake Lights?
Updated 04/19/2022 | Published 04/18/2022 >
Question:
I have a 6.5 x 10 trailer that has a 4 pin connector for the lights. The running lights and turn signals work fine but when I press the brake pedal the brake lights on the trailer won’t lite up but the running lights do. I have five wires, black, white, green, brown and yellow. The side markers have white and black wires running to them. When I try to wire the existing trailer lights to a four pin connector where does the black wire go if there isn’t a black wire coming from the connector?

From the sounds of the issue, your trailer is wired for separate turn/brake lights. What you need is the Hopkins Tail Light Converter - LED Compatible # HM48847 to combine the trailer lights.
