Size Opening to Install Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box

Question:
How thick or tall should the box be? I will be using 2xs to create the framing box to attach to the roof. Measurements: 14.25inch X 14.25 X 2inch thick 2x material 1 7/8inch actual Would 3inch tall work for how deep or how thick it would be to attach the A/C unit?

The Advent Air RV Air Conditioner w/ Air Distribution Box, Start Capacitor, and Heat Strip, # ACM135CH is designed to fit an opening that measures 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" +/- 1/8" There is no height requirement for the opening, it depends on thickness of your roof and how you choose to frame the opening.
