Installation Methods for a Tekonsha Brake Controller on a 2017 Chevy Silverado

Question:
What wires from the controller go to the Chevy wiring harness

Expert Reply:
All but the blue wire which goes to the 7-way at the rear of your Silverado. Here is where the wires go:
White - Ground
Black - 12V Power
Blue - To 7-Way at rear of vehicle
Red - Cold side of stop light switch
I have attached a wiring diagram.
You are in luck though, if your Silverado has the factory towing package, you don't need to cut or splice any wires. The Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers item # 3016 is a confirmed fit for your 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. With this adapter all you will need to do is plug it into the OEM port behind your dash. I have linked an installation video.
