Hello. I am interested in the Reese RP66560 hitch. The shank is included and is a 2. My receiver is a 2.5. Is it OK to use a reducer? Or can I get the hitch without a shank and get a 2.5inch one? What is the best route?

Yes, you can use a Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve # C45405 safely with your Reese Steadi-Flex Weight Distribution System # RP66560. I do recommend using the Hitch Receiver Immobilizer # BX88312 as this will eliminate all the play with having the additional reducer being used.

We only have the Reese Steadi-Flex weight distribution available with a 2" receiver shank. The only reason I would recommend switching shanks would be if you did not have enough drop with the stock shank only having 4" drop. The Shank # EQ94FR will give you a maximum drop of 9" and this will fit your 2-1/2" receiver without the adapter.
